Madison, WI Planning EngineerJob description:

• Provide technical and analytical support to maintain and analyze the electrical and financial performance of the present and future electric generation and transmission system
• Support the Periodic update and optimization of the Company’s planned electric energy resource portfolio
• Carry out the Company’s energy supply strategy

Madison, WI Transmission and Generation Planning Engineer Job Candidate Responsibilities:

• Perform power flow, energy cost, and generation resource economic studies utilizing various tools including, but not limited to, PTI PSS/E. PROMOD, PowerWorld, and Excel.
• Develop and Maintain accurate, representative models of resource, transmission system, and electricity market characteristics used in power flow, resource economic evaluation, production cost, energy supply, energy market, and other related analysis.
• Model and analyze short and long term operation and performance of the electric generation and transmission system in the context of organized Locational Marginal Price-based energy markets including transmission improvements, resource additions, and resource retirements.

Madison, WI Generation and Transmission Planning Engineer Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems emphasis or equivalent
• Knowledge of business economic analysis is helpful but not required
• Zero to five years of experience in transmission planning or related discipline desirable
• Knowledge of statistical analysis helpful but not required
