Guilford, CT Assistant Grocery Specialist Job Description

As the Assistant Grocery Specialist you will be responsible for working closely with Store Manager, Assistant Store Managers, and Grocery Manager in order to create The Fresh Market environment and ensure the success of the store and department through excellent customer service and a demonstrated passion for food. The Assistant Grocery Specialist may assist in the process of interviewing and selecting grocery employees to achieve the vision of The Fresh Market. The Assistant Grocery Specialist will ensure the prioritization and delegation of daily responsibilities throughout the department while training, coaching, and leading employees.

The Fresh Market prefers previous management experience in the retail, grocery, or restaurant industry. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated excellent communication and leadership skills and possess basic math skills for ordering and inventory. The knowledge of grocery products is preferred. The Fresh Market will require demonstrated strong merchandising and multi-tasking skills. The job requires standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day and the ability to lift, stack and maneuver objects. Weekend, evening and holiday work will be required in the position. Minimum age for employment is 18.
